The US Department of Education has notified Kurt Panton that under President Joe Biden’s ‘Big Loan repayment plan’, he now qualifies to have his remaining $18,000 in loans forgiven, 20 years since his first payment. Panton, who’s been repaying his student loans consistently for 19 years, said he didn’t think the government would issue such an email. “That’s disappointing,” he added.
Harvard University President Claudine Gay has said that calls for violence or genocide against the Jewish community, or any religious or ethnic group are vile. “They have no place at Harvard,” she added. The comment came after Gay was criticised by 74 members of Congress over her remarks at a House of Representatives committee hearing on anti-Semitism on college campuses.
